22.12.17: The 46th Annual Day – BHARATAIKAM, Unique India 2017 of D.A.V Public School, Unit-VIII, Bhubaneswar brought out the spirit of patriotism and the essence of cultural diversity highlighting the uniqueness of our motherland. The harmonious blend of music and dance marked the grand Annual Day of the school. The school choir enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of music followed by the welcome address by the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagyabati Nayak, presented the Annual Report enumerating the school’s achievements and the latest milestones in all arenas. The evening followed truly blessed by the benign presence of Chief Guest Dr. Nand Lal, the Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri University, Odisha who stressed on the responsibility and contribution as an anglo-vedic student towards society. The Guest of Honour Padma Shri Tulasi Munda, Social Activist encouraged the students to contribute towards society, help the needy and bring glory to our motherland. Mr. Madan Mohan Panda, Chairman School Managing Committee stressed on the responsibility of each towards country and feel proud to be an Indian. Dr. K. C. Satapathy, Regional Director, DAV Institutions, Odisha Zone-I, Major B. K. Mohapatra, Principals of different schools were the dignitaries who graced the occasion with their valuable presence. The event was preceded by the prize ceremony to various achievers, followed by different dances depicting patriotism and the multifarious colours of life. The Hindi chorus and the traditional dance of Odisha were presented very gracefully. The splendid evening witnessed different flavour of dance forms from the traditional, folk, semi-classical etc. Students showcased the spirit of patriotism, devotion towards our country and the unique features of India in different forms. The tiny tons presented a colourful spray of their talents on the theme Olympics. In a nutshell the evening was a tailor stage for self discovery. The confident and superb performances kept the audience glued to their seats, throughout the show. Thus the wintery evening thawed, with the performance that set the stage on fire. The closing ceremony has been scheduled to be held on 23.12.17 with more cultural extravaganza.

23.12.17 : The Closing Ceremony of the 46rd Annual Day–BHARATAKAM, Unique India-2017 of D.A.V Public School, Unit-VIII, Bhubaneswar brought out the essence of the rich and splendid  culture of India and  diversity on the second day of celebration. The school showcased a power packed show, which commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a captivating song by the school choir and prize distribution ceremony to the young achievers where the esteemed guests gave away the prizes. The occasion was blessed by the benign presence of Padma Shri Smt. Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi, Former Vice Chancellor, Sambalpur University who congratulated the students for their great success and encouraged to keep the attitude of a winner to achieve glory and prosperity in life. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr. Madan Mohan Panda, Chairman School Managing Committee, Dr. K. C. Satapathy, Regional Director, DAV Institutions, Odisha Zone-I, Sri Sarat Ch. Mishra, Chairman, DAV Kalinga Nagar, Principals of different schools of Odisha. An aura of festivity filled the air as the young classical dancers took the stage portraying the love for our motherland by saving rivers that provided an auspicious beginning to the event. The evening witnessed a colourful array of dance, music and drama. The event was preceded by different riveting and scintillating performances. In the series of vibrant events, the tiny tots danced on theme ”Tribute to Akshaya Mohanty” and ”Bharat to India” followed by Lavni, Samablpuri, Bengali dance and Ramp Walk which won an increasing applause from the audience. The Hindi and English play were very touching and stirred the emotion of the audience. The budding musicians of the school entertained the audience by their orchestral pieces. Addressing the august gathering, the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagyabati Nayak ensured the student’s maximum exposure to the various co-scholastic activities being done in the school. The two days music and dance extravaganza ended with a vote of thanks by the school leader. The evening ended with the farewell words, wishing everybody a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
